Waiting wife

Wife in bed, he’s on phone

Wife shows baby, he pats and rushes out

Food on table, he’s on iPad

Family gatherings, he only speaks of business

Official get-togethers, he’s at his best

Weekends, he returns home late

Anniversary, wife runs behind with a bouquet

He smiles, taps her cheeks, rushes out

Wife talks of child’s school, he nods without reply

Wife gets a call, she rushes out

Holds his hand

As the line straightens

On the life support machine

  1. Hmm..I feel sorry for the girl to have been married to someone like him. Not all men are like that.

  6. That may be a common pattern in many households unfortunately, though it seems that times are changing in some cultures where men are becoming more involved in housework and/or the raising of children…so great to witness! 🙂 ❤
