Oh! ask my genes, she sighs with a wink
I can gorge on sweets and just sit it off!
My dad played five sports
My mom goes hiking and she’s 62, can you believe it!
My liveliness comes from them
My grandmom wrote poetry
That’s my taste for books
My grand-dad had a basement with ivory idols
A street is named after him!
Villagers rush to greet me… she says pride oozing
And so it goes on…
After a few weeks, on another boastful evening, she said
I’m gonna visit my folks
Aren’t you picking up gifts for your grandparents? I asked
Oh no, they are no more. In fact, I’ve never seen either sets
‘But you sure love visiting their village. Don’t you?’
Me? Mom says she took me once as a toddler…

That was fun. The boaster was caught in her lies. Oh, how we’ve all known people like that. Sigh.
